The current car park at the rear of the Town Hall and the adjacent office block could be redeveloped as a green residential quarter with a strong focus on family sized homes and play areas for children. Green roofs, solar panels and water saving technologies could be incorporated into the development. General improvements to the surrounding public space and nearby buildings would be needed. Pedestrian and cycle routes would be retained and new ones created. As well as providing much needed homes for residents, the quarter would bring new life and footfall to this part of town.
